Hey guys! What’s the crack? I’m back again with another blog post, this time it isn’t a recipe but a review on a food spot in Debrecen. As you can already tell from the title, I do not plan to ramble too much on this one so let’s get right into it.

“Jó reggelt” means good morning in the Hungarian language little wonder this “Breakfast and food bar” is named after the phrase to really drive home the point that they serve a breakfast menu, but that’s besides the point. It is a relatively new spot in Debrecen, and by “new” I mean they’ve only been around since 2015 from the information I acquired. I decided to give it a try so here are my thoughts.

Location: This cool spot is located on Péterfia utca 65, right along the Tram 1 line on the Honved utca stop. It’s so evident you can’t miss it. That is a plus because your hungry self wouldn’t have to look for the place for too long, you know.

Opening hours: They are open on weekdays from 7 am – 3:30 pm and on Saturdays from 8 am – 3:30 pm.

The ambience of this place is pretty cool, it was giving me “21st-century cafe vibes” you know that chalk writing on a blackboard thing these cafes do to make them look upscale, that’s it! The staff were very nice and they spoke decent English so communication wasn’t a problem at all. The food was also very reasonably priced.

Now to the food part, it surprisingly took way longer than I expected. For the sanity of your mind and soul just be prepared to wait 45 minutes to an hour for your food. In order for me to give an honest review, I had to order something simple that most people will relate to, so I went with English breakfast with white bread. While my “teammates” did the same but with French toast, Double toasted sandwich and Hot dog instead of plain white bread. I was less than impressed with the white bread I was offered, it was very tasteless and just unpleasant to look at. I and my team all decided our favourite thing was the Beans that came with the breakfast, it was so flavorful I totally forgot how bland that white bread was. The French toast, Hot Dog and the Double toast sandwich were all very delicious and appetizing. The orange juice I had was so fresh and natural I could feel my cells thanking me for the wonderful “Vitamin c” I had just given them.

In a nutshell, it was a very pleasant experience and I would totally recommend you guys to visit, as I myself would also be going back there from time to time. I and my teammates rate this place “3.8/5”. I hope you guys check it out and let me know what you think. For more pictures check instagram.com/foodfelonies. Au revoir!
